Steel Roller Doors

Galvanised steel roller shutter doors for Irish industrial units, workshops and yards — robust single-skin curtains built for security and long service life.

Overview

Engineered for industrial environments

Steel roller doors use interlocking galvanised lath that resists impact, weather and forced entry far better than lightweight alternatives. They are the standard specification for unheated industrial units, workshops, stores and yard buildings.

Lath gauge and profile are chosen against opening width and exposure. Wider spans use heavier gauge lath and, on exposed or coastal sites, wind locks to hold the curtain in the guides under load.

Finishes range from mill-galvanised through plastisol to full RAL powder-coating where the door is on a visible elevation.

FAQ

Common questions from specifiers

Preparing a tender or a maintenance schedule? Our team publishes clear answers so you can specify with confidence.

Are steel roller doors insulated?+

Single-skin steel lath is not insulated. Where heat loss matters, foam-filled insulated lath is the correct specification — see our insulated roller doors.

Do steel roller doors rust?+

The lath is galvanised, and a plastisol or powder-coated finish adds a further protective layer. Coastal sites benefit from a heavier coating specification and regular washing down as part of maintenance.

What widths can you span?+

Span depends on lath gauge, barrel size and wind load class, all of which we calculate at survey rather than assuming from the nominal opening.
