A dock leveller bridges the height difference between your dock floor and the trailer bed, letting a forklift drive straight into the vehicle. Get the capacity, lip type or platform length wrong and you either slow every load or create a genuine safety problem.
We supply and install hydraulic levellers rated at 6, 9 and 12 tonnes, with hinged 400mm lips for consistent-height rigid fleets and telescopic 500mm or 1000mm lips for mixed, tail-lift and drop-well trailers. Platform length is selected from your dock height and the range of vehicle bed heights you actually handle.
All levellers are installed to EN 1398 with maintenance struts, toe guards, hydraulic hose-burst protection and interlocked controls that prevent the door and leveller operating out of sequence. We retrofit into existing pits as well as forming new pits during construction.

Hinged or telescopic lip — which do we need?+
Hinged lips are cheaper and fine for a consistent fleet of rigid vehicles. Telescopic lips extend into the trailer, which is what you need for tail-lift, drop-well or mixed fleets — the forklift never has to cross the vehicle floor edge.
Can a leveller be retrofitted to an existing dock?+
Yes, provided the pit dimensions suit. We survey the pit first; most single-bay retrofits are complete in about 48 hours with the bay back in use the same week.
How often should dock levellers be serviced?+
At least annually, and 6-monthly on high-turnover bays. Under PUWER a leveller is lifting work equipment — hydraulics, hose-burst valves and struts should be tested and recorded on each visit.
