Industrial Door Automation
Motorising manual doors and upgrading tired control systems — inverter drives, radar and loop activation, safety edges and access control integration.
Engineered for industrial environments
Automating a manual door removes the biggest single cause of doors being propped open: the effort of operating them. In a heated or chilled building that alone often justifies the work.
We motorise existing manual roller and sectional doors where the curtain and structure are sound, and replace obsolete control gear with modern inverter-driven panels that soft-start and soft-stop — reducing shock loading on the curtain, springs and motor and extending the life of the whole assembly.
Activation can be by push button, key switch, remote fob, pull cord, induction loop, radar motion detector or vehicle number plate recognition, with access control and traffic light interlocks where site traffic needs managing. Every automation upgrade is completed with a safety review: safety edges, photocells and force testing are brought up to EN 13241-1 as part of the work.

Common questions from specifiers
Preparing a tender or a maintenance schedule? Our team publishes clear answers so you can specify with confidence.
Can our existing manual door be automated?+
Often yes — if the curtain, barrel and guides are in good condition and the structure can take the motor loads. We survey first and tell you honestly when replacement is the better value option.
What safety devices are legally required on a powered door?+
A powered door must not create a crushing or shearing hazard. In practice that means a safety edge on the bottom rail and photocells across the opening, with force limits verified by testing to EN 12453 at commissioning.
Can the door open automatically for forklifts only?+
Yes. An induction loop or radar detector tuned for vehicles will open for a forklift or HGV while ignoring pedestrians, which is the usual setup for internal high speed doors.
