Shutter Repairs

Roller Shutter Repairs

Roller shutter repairs across Ireland on any make — jammed curtains, broken springs, failed motors, damaged guides, faulty safety edges and shutters stuck open or closed.

Overview

Engineered for industrial environments

A roller shutter that will not close leaves a building open; one that will not open stops trading or dispatch. Our engineers diagnose the fault on site, quote before starting, and carry the parts that cover most shutter breakdowns — torsion springs, hoist chains and cables, contactors, inverters, limit switches, photocells and bottom safety edges.

Physical damage is the other frequent cause. Forklifts and delivery vehicles bend side guides and buckle individual laths, which pulls the curtain out of line. Where the curtain is otherwise sound we straighten or replace guides and swap the affected lath sections rather than renewing the whole shutter.

Control faults are often mistaken for motor failure. Before recommending a replacement motor we test the supply, contactor, limit settings and safety circuit, because a shutter that has stopped on a tripped safety edge behaves exactly like one with a dead drive.

Every repair closes with a function test of the curtain, drive and safety devices, and a digital job sheet recording the fault, the parts fitted and photographs for your maintenance file.

FAQ

Common questions from specifiers

Preparing a tender or a maintenance schedule? Our team publishes clear answers so you can specify with confidence.

Can an existing roller shutter be repaired rather than replaced?+

Usually yes. If the curtain, barrel and guides are structurally sound, almost every other component — springs, cables, motor, controls, safety edge — can be replaced individually. We quote repair and replacement side by side when a shutter is reaching the end of its economic life.

My shutter is stuck half open — what causes that?+

The most common causes are a snapped spring or cable that has left the curtain unbalanced, a limit switch out of adjustment, or a triggered safety edge holding the circuit open. Do not force it: an unbalanced curtain can drop. We diagnose it on site.

Do you repair shutters installed by another company?+

Yes. Most of our shutter repair work is on doors originally supplied by other contractors, including discontinued makes.

How much does a roller shutter repair cost?+

It depends on the fault and the parts needed, so we diagnose first and give a fixed price before any work starts. We do not quote a repair figure before seeing the door.
