Shop Front Shutters

Retail and trade counter shutters that secure the premises overnight without ruining the frontage — compact head-boxes, punched lath and powder-coated finishes.

Overview

Engineered for industrial environments

Shop front shutters have to do two jobs that pull against each other: present a secure steel barrier out of hours, and not make the unit look like a fortress during trading.

We fit compact head-box shutters — face-fixed or built into the reveal — using punched or perforated lath so displays stay visible and daylight reaches the shop floor. Curtains are powder-coated to any RAL, so the shutter can match the shopfront rather than fight it.

Typical applications: high street retail units, trade counters, builders' providers, pharmacies, off-licences, restaurant and takeaway frontages, and retail park units. Operation is by key switch, remote fob or timer, with manual override built in for power failures.

FAQ

Common questions from specifiers

Preparing a tender or a maintenance schedule? Our team publishes clear answers so you can specify with confidence.

Can a shutter be fitted without spoiling the shop front?+

Yes. A built-in shutter sits inside the reveal and is barely visible when open. Where that isn't possible, a compact face-fixed head-box powder-coated to match the fascia is the usual answer.

Do landlords or planners need to approve a shutter?+

In some town centres and conservation areas, yes — solid curtains are often restricted while punched or open-lath shutters are permitted. Check with the local authority before ordering; we can supply drawings to support an application.

What happens in a power cut?+

Every electric shutter we install has a manual override — a chain hoist or crank — so the unit can still be opened and closed.
