Electric Roller Doors

Powered roller shutter doors with compliant control panels, safety edges and photocells — installed and commissioned to EN 13241-1 across Ireland.

Overview

Engineered for industrial environments

An electric roller door is a safety-critical machine, not just a motorised curtain. Powered doors require a compliant control system, force limitation and protection against entrapment before they can be handed over.

We install single-phase and three-phase tubular and side-mounted geared motors with control panels, manual override for power failure, and activation to suit the traffic — push button, key switch, remote control, induction loop or radar.

Existing manual doors can often be automated where the barrel, guides and curtain are sound. Where they are not, we quote replacement so you can compare both routes.

FAQ

Common questions from specifiers

Preparing a tender or a maintenance schedule? Our team publishes clear answers so you can specify with confidence.

What happens to an electric roller door in a power cut?+

Powered doors are fitted with a manual override — typically a chain hoist or crank — so the door can be opened safely without mains power.

Can my existing manual door be automated?+

Often yes. We check the barrel, guides, curtain condition and structural fixings first, because a motor fitted to a worn door simply accelerates failure.

What safety devices are required?+

A powered industrial door needs protection against entrapment and crushing — normally a safety edge on the bottom lath plus photocells, with a compliant control panel and documented commissioning.
