Industrial Door Prices
What actually determines the price of an industrial door or roller shutter in Ireland — and exactly what to send us so your quotation is accurate first time.
Engineered for industrial environments
There is no single price for an industrial door, and any figure quoted before the opening is seen is a guess. Two doors of the same width can differ substantially in cost depending on insulation, motor specification, wind loading and what has to happen to the structure before the door can be fitted. We survey and issue a written, itemised quotation rather than publishing a headline price.
The largest single factor is the opening itself — width and height determine the curtain, the barrel and the motor size, and cost rises faster than area because larger curtains need heavier lath and stronger fixings. Door type comes next: a galvanised roller shutter, an insulated foam-filled shutter, a sectional overhead door, a high speed door and a fire-rated shutter sit at very different points, because each is a different product rather than an upgrade of the same one.
Operation and controls follow. Manual chain hoist is the cheapest, single-phase electric operation adds the motor and control gear, and three-phase inverter drives with soft start suit high-cycle openings. Safety edges and photocells are not optional on a powered door — they are part of EN 13241-1 compliance and are included in every quotation we issue.
Finally, site conditions. Removing and disposing of an old door, repairing or forming a structural opening, steelwork, restricted access, working at height, or fitting outside operating hours all carry real cost. These are the items that most often separate a cheap quotation from an accurate one, so we identify them at survey instead of raising variations later.

Common questions from specifiers
Preparing a tender or a maintenance schedule? Our team publishes clear answers so you can specify with confidence.
How much does an industrial roller door cost in Ireland?+
It depends on the opening size, door type, insulation, motor specification and the site works required, so we do not publish a price. We survey the opening and issue a written itemised quotation. Sending dimensions and photographs first lets us tell you quickly whether a project is in the range you expect.
What information do you need to quote?+
Clear width and height of the structural opening, available headroom above and side room each side, whether an existing door has to be removed, the power supply available (single or three phase), the building use, and photographs of the opening from inside and outside.
Is an insulated door worth the extra cost?+
It depends on whether the space behind the door is heated or temperature-controlled and how often the door is open. On a heated warehouse or a chilled area, insulated lath or a sectional door usually pays back in heat loss. On an unheated yard store it rarely does.
Is it cheaper to repair an existing door than replace it?+
Usually, if the curtain, barrel and guides are sound. Where a door needs repeated motor and curtain work, or can no longer be brought up to EN 13241-1 safety standards, we quote repair and replacement together so you can compare on cost rather than guesswork.
Do you charge for a site survey?+
No. Surveys and written quotations are free across the 26 counties.
