Insulated roller doors use double-skin lath filled with rigid foam, so the curtain itself resists heat transfer instead of acting as a steel bridge to the outside. Combined with brush and rubber perimeter seals, they cut both heat loss and draughts on heated buildings.
They also reduce noise transmission, which matters where a unit operates near residential boundaries or where internal noise levels are being managed.
Insulated lath is heavier than single-skin, so motor sizing, barrel specification and guide fixings are calculated accordingly at survey.

Is an insulated roller door as efficient as a sectional door?+
An insulated sectional door generally achieves better thermal performance because the panels are thicker. An insulated roller door is the better choice where headroom is limited and a sectional track cannot be accommodated.
Do insulated roller doors need a bigger motor?+
The curtain is heavier, so motor torque and barrel specification are sized for the finished curtain weight rather than the opening size alone.
Will an insulated door reduce noise?+
Yes, the foam core and perimeter seals reduce noise transmission noticeably compared with single-skin lath, although a door is never a full acoustic barrier.
